AARP trained volunteers will be back again to provide patrons with free and confidential tax preparation. Note that Tax-Aide volunteers cannot prepare returns for taxpayers who changed their state of primary residence during 2022 or for taxpayers who run a business with inventory, depreciation, or a loss.
Four sites to obtain assistance:
1.Westbrook Public Library,
2. Killingworth Congregational Church,
3. Clinton Town Hall, and
4. The Estuary Senior Center in Old Saybrook
To make an appointment:
1. Schedule online at https://www.aarp.org/money/taxes/aarp_taxaide/locations.html and search for any of the local sites (Old Saybrook, Westbrook, Killingworth, or Clinton)
OR
2. Call 860-579-3192 (This number be staffed during limited hours; voicemails may be left when staff are unavailable.)
For your appointment, you must bring:
1. Last year’s return;
2. All 2022 forms such as Social Security, W-2s, 1099-Rs, unemployment, bank and brokerage statements, and
3. A voided check if you would like direct deposit or direct withdrawal.
Prior to your appointment, you must pick up an AARP Tax-Aide envelope, which is available at:
1. Westbrook Public Library,
2. The front desk of the Killingworth Public Library (not the Congregational Church!),
3. Clinton Town Hall, and
4. The Estuary Senior Center in Old Saybrook
